Passionate about technology and determined to excel in his studies despite the challenges he and his family have faced

Ahmad studied at Al-Jalil UNRWA Secondary School before enrolling at Beirut Arab University to study Computer Science. He chose this field because of his passion and love for computers and technology from a young age.

Ahmed first learned about the Palestinian Students’ Fund during his secondary school years and applied from his first semester at university due to his family’s limited financial circumstances. His father is the family’s sole breadwinner and works as a chef in a restaurant.

Like many Palestinian and Lebanese students, Ahmad was affected by the security situation during the recent war in Lebanon. He and his family were displaced from Bir Hassan in Beirut to the Bekaa for several days. On one occasion, they were also forced to spend the night on Beirut’s seaside corniche due to the shelling in the city. He recalls continuing his studies at home for two days using only a UPS after the electricity was cut for two days following an Israeli strike on an area near their home.

In addition to the war, security concerns, and displacement, remote learning presented another challenge for Ahmad, making it more difficult for him to understand his courses and reducing the quality of education he received.

Despite all these difficulties, Ahmad continues to pursue his studies with dedication. He currently has a university GPA of 3.36 out of 4 and aspires to graduate with distinction and find employment opportunities that will allow him to support his family.
